I need much prayer please my wife and I have been living separately for a few years now. She is working in Cheyenne Wyoming and I am here in Fort Collins Colorado supporting our youngest son who is in college.  She got offered a better position in Atlanta. And she leaves on September first.  Cheyenne is only 40 miles away but Atlanta well geographically is very far away. My heart is heavy she attends a Baptist church up there in Cheyenne. I no longer consider myself a Baptist and do not agree with all their doctrine but do however believe the bible and love our lord. She is a Christian but was a radical feminist before that. I love her very much and I am hurting right now. I am willing to move to Atlanta if that is where she wants to live, but have to wait on our son because I promised him I would. I do not know what to do and have to fight the depression that comes with this. I want to do what is right I want to serve d the lord but she feels if I do not do it in a Baptist church then it is not the will of GOD.  Not just any Baptist but the fundamental independent brand of Baptist churches that think all other Christians are less than they are. I need help in prayers for GOD to open her heart to the truth. She will not listen to me when I use scriptures. But she has not divorce me thank GOD. I would love to finish up helping my son then move out there but do not know if she will take me back then and do not know how to repair our marriage with such a geographical barrier. Please pray for me

Your brother in Christ Darren

HI Darren,

I have been praying for you for the last 2 days and I want to encourage you before your wife moves to Atlanta to get marriage counsel from her (fundamental) Baptist Church together, the reason for this is that your marriage issues are not about doctrine and church views and if she is adamant about her baptist beliefs this is only a small part of repairing your marriage. if through counsel it is agreed that marriage is a covenant that should not be broken then they will also have to agree that marriage separation cannot be on the grounds of Baptist denominational beliefs. If you have to attend with her for a season when she moves to Atlanta then agree to do so on the grounds that you develop a prayer and devotional life together before the Lord for your love to grow stronger and for you both to be drawn closer to Jesus.

Marriage separation that is not about seeking the Lord in restoring the marriage is rebellion before the Lord and if your wife truly seeks to follow Jesus she will make a go at a Godly restoration of your marriage. In America the sad fact is that many so called Christian counsel is based on the world not the Word of God so do your home work on what the Word says concerning 2 flesh becoming one flesh and Gods will in the marriage covenant as your wife seems to be into telling you going to her Baptist Church is the only path for Gods will, ask the marriage counsel to minister to you both from God will in marriage.
the key to success in restoration is accountability when you have done everything in your strength to restore the marriage call on the body of Christ to support you. For you to see the repair you may well have to get this help from here church which is OK because you want her to want to have counsel and the bottom line in counsel is not about you being a better Baptist but about husband and wife growing in Christ as the center in the marriage together.

Love and prayers and i hope this helps

Kenny
Good News, We are working things out and as of now she says that I can move down there with her. I need to remain her in Fort Collins Colorado until my son graduates then I am free to move down there. That gives me a year to work on self improvement to become a better husband I wish we could attend counseling together but we can't right now. She is leaving to Atlanta tomorrow. I want to make this work but Atlanta is a big city with all the dangers that come with that so I am worried because I can't be there to protect her. That causes me stress and stress causes depression in me. I need prayers for a mentor some one who can help me grow in the lord as well as learn to become a better husband to my wife Vicki. I know that couple counseling is workable right now but if I become a more consistent man of God perhaps I do not need couples counseling. She does love me. He words are that I am a great lover, great cook and a good person but a lousy room mate. So I need to become a person she can tolerate living with. I am better at cleaning up after myself but need to be better. I have to learn to control my depression because I get cranky when I am depressed. I isolated my depression to be caused by stress, so I have to learn how to cop with stress better. Find an outlet for that perhaps I will try more exercises. But when I bottle things up the results is depression in me it took me years to isolate that and realize why I would get depressed for no reason at all.

But the great thing is there is hope and Vicki is willing to take me back since the above post was written. My son will be done with his school in a year an my promise to him will be done. So pray that GOD will help me be the husband she needs and that GOD will protect her down there in the heart of Dixie.

Thank you so much for your prayers
My prayers are with you Darren. I know all so well how it hurts to have someone you love seperated by religeon. I pray love has a chanch in your life and marriage. - Rod
