One question that has been on my mind lately, and one that was set off with the interview show with David Silver is this: who will stand with Israel in these days?

In the natural, I cannot believe that the small country completely surrounded by its enemies, is still on the map, literally!!! You would think with the amount of money the muslim nations have with their oil export, they would have plenty of resources to rid the world of Israel and the Jewish people. This is not the case, and one could easily come to the conclusion that more is going on than meets the eye. Of course, as true Christians we know this is the hand of God, who has made a covenant with Israel to restore her to her former borders. Even before I knew of this ugly thing called replacement theology, I instinctively knew that God had a special plan and purpose for Israel.

I have heard the following phrase quite a few times before: "Israel had her change, now the church has taken her place." Looking at the state of the church today, I would say they haven't done much better than Israel and her following after false gods and idols. And these same "preachers" would say that we must stand on the Word, and all the promises are yes and amen, because God is not a liar. Now, with this broken logic, if all the promises are yes and amen, then they cannot be broken. This would include all the promises that God has given to Israel, and proves that the Lord is clearly not finished with His people. Rom 9:15 says God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy, and compassion on whom He has compassion. This is not to do with works, as the rest of this passage indicates. God has chosen Israel, and that is that. You can argue till your blue in the face, but this is the bottom line. It has nothing to do with their righteousness, it has to do with God's promise to them as a nation. God dealt harshly with the Israelites when they followed false gods, and God blessed them greatly when they served Him alone. Through Abraham's friendship and faith in God, this covenant was brought into place, and cannot be broken. Is God man that He is a liar? Surely not!!!

If we are to trust God and take Him up on His word and His promises, in like manner the Jewish people can do the same. Remember, through Jesus, a Jew, came the promise of salvation to all mankind. Through His apostles, also Jews, came a wildfire that swept over the world to bring His good news of salvation to all mankind, Jews and Gentiles alike. Now, the real question is, what do we do? I honestly do not have the answer to that question, but I believe that we can all get to the starting blocks and at least start the race facing the right direction. Reaching the Jewish community is a difficult task, ask David Silver. But, in the same breath, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing a Jewish person being re-united with their God through Yeshuah (Jesus).

So, what I do know is this, we can pray for Israel, we can pray for the Jewish communities in our area that they would accept Jesus as their Messiah. We can also pray to God to give us divine opportunities to minister to our Jewish friends, not being pushy, but through His Spirit to bring life.

Now, the question I asked right at the beginning was this: who will stand with Israel?
I pray that every believer that reads this will do exactly that.

Lord, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem according to your word, we pray for the young soldiers going off to war to keep Your hand of protection on their lives. We thank you for Israel Lord, that our fates are intertwined, and that one day we will truly be brothers. Even now this is happening!
"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come!!!!"
"Yes, I am coming quickly, Amen. Yes, come Lord Jesus."

Moses asks who will stand for God?

We know that Israel, all 12 tribes will be restored in the Messianic kingdom and we know too from Zech 12 that Judah will be restored.
Hi Rod.

Thanks for replying.

I guess there is so much to say on this topic. I haven't even really touched on all the prophecies and promises God made to Israel, but feel free to expand on it. I think my main goal with this was for people to realise that Israel and the churche's futures are linked together.
It is not replacement theology, it is fullfilment theology.

Galatians 3:28
28 There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

We must all become Christians to be saved. We are all equal before the cross and all must except the cross. This goes for Jews, Palestinians, and even Americans!
Greetings ... I was invited to join this Organic Church Today ... checked it out and feel it is of God. As I was scrolling through the forum I came across your article. It was well written. I was born from a Jewish Father and a German Mother. They never married so we took on our Mother's name. I am a Messianic Jew. My Father's last name was Levi.

I wanted to reply because I agree totally with your article. We all need to pray for Israel. I am appalled at how our current government administration is not supportive of Israel. The sad part is if they don't change their view on Israel, it will come back to bit them in the behind. That is why we all need to pray for Israel. When God called each and every Christian, he called us to be modern day Disciples.

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19, KJV)

Being Christ’s disciple involves firm commitment. These men already knew Jesus. He had talked to Peter and Andrew previously (John 1:35-42) and had been preaching in the area. When Jesus called them, they knew what kind of man he was and were willing to follow him. They were not in a hypnotic trance when they followed but had been thoroughly convinced that following him would change their lives forever.

James and his brother, John, along with Peter and Andrew, were the first disciples that Jesus called to work with him. Jesus’ call motivated these men to get up and leave their jobs—immediately. They didn’t make excuses about why it wasn’t a good time. They left at once and followed. Jesus calls each of us to follow him. When Jesus asks us to serve him, we must be like the disciples and do it at once.

God Bless each an everyone who posted here and please don't stop praying for Israel!

Sincerely ... Rev. Dave Kutz (Levi)

Michael, my experiences with such groups for more than 20 years now is pretty much the same. Some of them broke up over childish things, such as fleshly disputes, others because they wanted that "religious fix" like spiritual junkies…

Malcolm, I agree with Elaine that this succinct presentation is very helpful. Thank you. The one matter of baptism(s) has been an issue that has occasioned the setting of God's children against one another for almost 2000 years, with such…

The Unseen War by David Kortje

A few weeks back I shared a book review with all of you as I felt it was worthy of your reading. This week I find myself doing the same thing again. You are probably wondering if I have suddenly become a “book reviewer” which of course is not the case at all. In fact quite the contrary. The thing is that for the first time in a very long time I have picked up two books that have really impressed something new in my heart. Not necessarily because the topic was new but more so because of the way…See More

Great story, Michael -- and a good analogy. Two options: contriving a sense of safety/ control or trusting the God who reveals. One is an illusion; the other is life.

I know I'm responding to myself, but I had idea. I like stories; sometimes they teach us about ourselves.  A couple of weeks ago I needed some engine work done on an old Chevy.  Tired of paying a mechanic…

I like reading both sides of the issue, and then reading for myself what is written in the Bible. Some thieves have PhD's, and some don't.
