Having read about half-way through, I believe this to be one of the more helpful books on simple church/organic church I've come across. Lots of practical advice, which I honestly haven't seen elsewhere. Let's talk about it.
a nonprofit ministry that assists people in being able to make the best decisions based on Chritian principles through workshops, conferences, and community service initiatives. Join us as we share the freedom of living FREE in Jesus Christ!
Hi Corinne
Sorry I missed your friend request--not sure how I did that. Anyway, welcome. Not a lot going on at the moment, but I think everyone's busy with real-time relationships--a good thing. :)
Well Rod, it looks like you might have found people of like mind & spirit. Sometimes I feel saddened that we are separated by distance but then I am gladdened because at least technology has been able to bridge the gap! I am so glad that you are…
Thanks...nice feet huh? This is an interesting website thing you have going. I live in Barrington RI and have attended a Baptist Church...I have a RomCath background...came to Christ in California through Calvary Chapel in 29 years ago (chuck smith etc), worked for Walter Martin (bible answer man etc) grew in my faith through an awesome non-denom church in York, PA for many years, now here in RI with 2 boys and husband. Have been growing in my understand of this simple/missional/organic church movement through friends in Lancaster PA who work with Muslims and non-traditional approach to evangelism. This has really appealed to my sense of how the church might grow best in a post-modern culture (love Alan Hirsch and others). I've been involved in initiating several small groups in the area: a mom's bible study @ my son's Christian School, a small group attached to the Baptist church and a newly formed small group which consists of many who have either left the Baptist church looking for "more" or are sticking it out, wondering if there is something more. Recently discovered Wally Wildes who considers himself to be a missionary to this area and does discipleship classes based around the Story formed Life http://jeremypryor.wordpress.com/2008/05/03/how-did-the-story-formed-life-start/..Very interesting stuff. So....i'm in process of wondering what is next...how people get these things going, while walking incrementally in faith as HE brings like minded people my way. So, I'm grateful to "plug in" to you guys and see what people are up to. Do you know of anyone in this area doing this work? blessings~joan
Thanks for the note and of course, it's nice to know you too through OCT. What do you do in S. Africa?
May the Lord use you to build His Kingdom even as you plan to move to the States.
Thanks for reverting with your notes. As for me I'm pastoring a church here in Shillong, India. We're about 40 + people, all from Hindu background. We're a church that's moving "out of the box" and into the fuller expression of church life and experiences He has called us into. I'm also blessed with a lovely wife and five gorgeous children, four of whom are being homeschooled. My ministry is basically a "faith-adventure" ministry that takes us through tests and trials and miracles:-). We'd truly appreciate your prayers for us. Thanks.
What are you doing in S. Africa? I have always dreamed of visiting Africa one day!
China trip plans are going well...I am almost packed and now have to concentrate on staying focused at work for a few more days! I am very excited to meet with the body of Christ in Beijing. Many exciting things happening there!
My husband and I do enjoy traveling. The fishing adventure was actually our honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas a couple of years ago! The fish in the pic was a baby...I did manage to pull in a 150lb marlin on that same trip. I believe there is a pic on FB.
It is so nice to hear from you. Please stay in touch and thank you for the prayers!
Hello Corrine,
Thanks for your comments on my page.
Where about in S Africa are you?
I spent a couple of weeks in Joberg last year.
I love the way that the church is coming back to the new testament pattern.
Love and blessings
Sylvia

Michael, my experiences with such groups for more than 20 years now is pretty much the same. Some of them broke up over childish things, such as fleshly disputes, others because they wanted that "religious fix" like spiritual junkies…
Malcolm, I agree with Elaine that this succinct presentation is very helpful. Thank you. The one matter of baptism(s) has been an issue that has occasioned the setting of God's children against one another for almost 2000 years, with such…
A few weeks back I shared a book review with all of you as I felt it was worthy of your reading. This week I find myself doing the same thing again. You are probably wondering if I have suddenly become a “book reviewer” which of course is not the case at all. In fact quite the contrary. The thing is that for the first time in a very long time I have picked up two books that have really impressed something new in my heart. Not necessarily because the topic was new but more so because of the way…See More
Great story, Michael -- and a good analogy. Two options: contriving a sense of safety/ control or trusting the God who reveals. One is an illusion; the other is life.
I know I'm responding to myself, but I had idea. I like stories; sometimes they teach us about ourselves. A couple of weeks ago I needed some engine work done on an old Chevy. Tired of paying a mechanic…
