Rabbi's Voice commented on Jimmy Nduruchi's blog post Can a born again follower of Christ Jesus be possessed by demons?Report for 28th April 2011
In the morning following an overnight that I can compare to the fellowship at Cornelius’ home in the Acts of the Apostles, another side of Brother Kiama unfolded. He took us 10 kilometres eastwards to a home where his wife Janet stays with his/her two daughters – Wanjiru now 18 and Muthoni, 20. (I should note that when Kiama was called into solitude in 1994, Wanjiru was 14 months old and Muthoni was 2 years and a half).
When we arrived at 6am, Wanjiru was feeding their cow while her mom was feeding chickens. Muthoni is in Nairobi in college.
As we pulled in, they dropped their buckets and ran towards the car. Kiama got out and they fell on his neck. They last saw him in June last year. I felt sorry for them but I was wrong because soon I would learn another lesson about the working of the Lord. We who often ignore the Spirit’s voice and direction because we want to stick to normalcy go wrong and we miss it altogether. We think in our little minds that a man must remain with his children for them to grow up well in love and security and fear of the Lord. But wait a sec! Is it not true that great men of God in the Bible had questionable family lives? They were crazy men under cultural considerations. To wit- Moses married again—where is Zipporah? Joel was ordered to marry a prostitute. Elijah had no direction. Elisha was ordered to simply leave everything and go etc. Every powerful prophet of God was crazy in a way; they were crazy by worldly standards and expectations.
That aside: I came to learn that when Brother Kiama was told to leave his family, his wife Janet supported it fully. They had only a quarter an acre of land and a small two-roomed timber house. On his resignation, he was given 10,000 shillings ($120) and that was it. She prayed for him and released him into the wild. It boggles my mind, yet so real and true. In her testimony, Janet said that her daughters never got sick. Her little business of selling milk and other household goods flourished. She reared cattle and fed neighbours with milk. She reared chicken and fish and these things she still has them. The Lord blessed her and expanded her territory and now she has three hectares of land. The other abandoned house stands on half an acre of land, and it’s not tilled. One secret that Janet shared with us is this- prayer. She has ceaselessly held her husband before the Lord in prayer. Her prayers have sustained him in the wild, among lions and other dangerous man-eating reptiles, without a companion and good food.
I was amazed by Wanjiru and her seasoned demeanour. She is a godly young woman. She is a worshipper. She is quick and hardworking. She is beautiful and decent. Above all, she loves the Lord so much.
We spent the whole Thursday 28th April with this unique family and set up a home church in their house with four families that neighbour them. The Lord has been preparing them for the organic body life. At exactly 5 pm, Brother Kiama was supposed to leave for his abode in the Mount Kenya forest and so he did. He left on foot. Our time with him and his family was officially over. We got into our car and drove off to Timau town where we spent the night. The whole episode left us shaking.
Let God be true. Let the Lord roar in Zion! Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

I'm done. With the plastic smiles
I'm done. With Christians who walk into church like they are walking into a Country Club
I'm done. With Christians pretending they are perfect
I'm done. With churches saying "that's the way we've always done it"
I'm done. With Christians who say healing services in these modern days are fake.
I'm done. With Christians who avoid fasting
I'm done. With people who sit in church waiting for the…

For several times a born-again sister in Christ has been falling down and convulsing each time we enter His presence with worship in the assembly of Jesus Christ in homes. I kept thinking she is being seized by the power of God. To my amazement she started manifesting demonic indicators i.e. rolling eyes, taking out the tongue like a snake, bizarre laughters, pointing out fingers and removing her hair pieces with her fingers. We rebuked the evil spirit in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, and…

I think one outstanding divide between the Third World and First World Christianity is the former’s practical approach and the latter’s theoretical approach to the word of God. I am not trying to elevate the Third World (or Africa for that matter) to levels that seem higher than they really deserve in practical terms; daily lives. We have some absurdities that even shock the world right from here.
But having traveled quite extensively and interacted with people from both sides, I came…

Many people have run away from the institutional church (IC) to the house church, but sadly, they are still wrong. They are wrong because flawed as IC may be; their standards were lower than expected there. They were selfish, so they ran to avoid giving. They were too proud to accept rebuke, counsel and correction, so they ran so that nobody should ‘offend’ them with instruction. They were too arrogant to accept the opinion of another; so they ran to pursue and protect their personal…

I'm new to this site, as well. I'm trying to find your profile on the page, but haven't located it, yet. I'm going to call a friend later for help. It is 7:00am, here.
I’m 39. I’m work as a Patient Aid I at Central State Hospital ICF/MR (Intensive Care Facility/Mental Retardation) in Louisville, Kentucky. I provide direct care for residents. Each resident is both mentally ill and mentally retarded.
I’m a member of LaGrange Baptist Church where I live in LaGrange, Kentucky. But, my work doesn’t allow me to attend church there, regularly. Last Sunday I attended Southeast Christian Church’s Oldham campus after work. The sermon was good and the light show was beautiful. Even the music was nice. But, I find it hard to walk into a church and meet people.
My friend Vince Coakley in Charlotte, North Carolina suggested that I give this site a try in an effort to meet some Christians. Although I listen to a lot of sermons on the radio and internet, I don’t get much Christian fellowship.
Thank you for inviting me on Organic Church Today. Tell me about yourself.
Sincerely,
Eric Brinegar
