I think Yahushua knew we would not find many. That is why He said "Wherever two or more are gathered in My name..." I personally think He was laying out the gathering for us in that statement, and giving us the encouragement that we need…

A Royal Priesthood

It seems that we have wanted someone else as a mediator between us and God ever since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve walked with Him in the Garden, communing on a personal level. The sinful nature we now have does not want this. We seem to want to 'hide' behind bushes from God. We want to hide behind a priest of some sort. It was what the people of Israel chose when God tried speaking to them directly....When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet…See More

Do you blame yourself for failing over how your children turned out?

I have heard the heart-cry of many who believe they have failed in raising their children because of how they turned out. One of the many condemnations we put on ourselves (and on others) is this idea that anything that does not end up as being perfect fruit proves our incompetency or lack of spiritual correctness.Nothing effects us in this life more than our children I think. We delight in them, we agonize over them. If they make a bad choice, or turn out less-than-perfect compared to others'…See More

A road less travelled

Life is like a road. For the majority, it is a large super highway. It is an easy-coasting road, with many lanes to choose from, all leading to the same destination. The Bible is our road map for the journey. The map points us to a road 'less travelled' , named Yahushua. Some of us get off the highway and start driving this narrow road. Contrary to the statement: "The straight and narrow" it is actually a very winding road, with a lot of twists and turns. It is anything but straight.Anyone who…See More

Revisiting the Ten Commandments. I NEVER expected this!

The Ten Commandments. What do they mean to you? Law? A chain around your neck? Something long since passed away? Something on the court house wall to be debated? The Physical and financial crisis' in my life over the last few years have driven me to seek God's truths more than I ever have before. There are only two choices to take during times like this; Life or Death. I have chosen life. My cry to our Father is to know His ways, to walk in His ways, to please Him, and to be 'detoxed' of all…See More

I fit that bill at 50 yrs old, but I have a 12 year old son. I started late in life. So, I am a mixture of middle-age and young parent. I think I am more of a Grand-dad than a Dad at times. Not sure if I qualify for common ground in that, but I am…

I remember one time when I was alone with guitar in hand, just me and God, the way I like it. I cried out to Him that I wanted more if Him.
He spoke to me then and reminded me that He already gave me all of Himself. It was ME that HE wants more of. I was mixing up the signals.

Just something I wanted to share.

The Unseen War by David Kortje

A few weeks back I shared a book review with all of you as I felt it was worthy of your reading. This week I find myself doing the same thing again. You are probably wondering if I have suddenly become a “book reviewer” which of course is not the case at all. In fact quite the contrary. The thing is that for the first time in a very long time I have picked up two books that have really impressed something new in my heart. Not necessarily because the topic was new but more so because of the way…See More

Great story, Michael -- and a good analogy. Two options: contriving a sense of safety/ control or trusting the God who reveals. One is an illusion; the other is life.
