Pieter and Elzeth Pretorius said… Jim, We know those kind of tempratures. Tomorrow our temp will be 85. We always marvel at your minus temp's when we see it is around 10 to 0 F. We can't imagine living under those conditions.
Yes West Africa is notorious for witchcraft and the occult. The guys that live there say that the atmosphere in some areas are very oppressive so that you scarcely can pray. So it is really exciting what the Lord is doing!
Enjoy your worship, I am looking forward to the fruit of it.
I am trying to find witnesses on blogs re organic church to get a deeper understanding of what its all about. The Lord has really blessed my wife and I when we discovered the blog of Jamal Jivanjee. We gained a lot of understanding of what is on God's heart and the vision of who Jesus is in his richness and fullness. I think we have just scratched the surface, but it is awesome. Further I have listened to messages by Frank Viola on iPod which has also been enlightening.
I wish I could sit down and listen to your feed back of your time in Africa. God bless.
Jim London said… Hi, Pieter! Thank you for asking about us! Yes, we're back home from Nigeria, where the temperature is over 90F, to where we live and expect snow on the ground tomorrow! We are celebrating many things related to our time in Nigeria -- being among His people and delighting with them in who He is and what He is doing, and also witnessing the extension of His name in rural villages as faithful witnesses display Him in ways that attract their neighbours out of animism and away from witchdoctors, and into His life. Very encouraging to be exposed to such goodness, but also disheartening to behold such poverty and ill health.
I haven't forgotten your interest in reading what I am writing about "I will build My church". In the coming weeks, I will continue to sit before God and attempt to capture in writing what His intention is for His church. It is truly a wonderful experience of worship to be doing so.
What is God encouraging you with these days?
