We had been meeting with two other couples for close to two years... just met once a week to encourage one another... and, for me, a lot of it was to detox from the IC....Just before Christmas 2008 we felt it was time to move towards aligning ourselves with the Lord to allow Him to establish a local expression of His Body here in Mission, BC. Canada, so we put a very small ad in a small local paper and the same ad on Craig's List. We prayed that the Lord would lead to those ads whomever He wanted to connect with us ... well, this January we started meeting with 3 new couples.. doubled our size. We moved our meeting to Sundays at 4pm so we could eat together and then fellowship with the Lord aftewards. A primary focus right now is "getting to know one another, so we'll take it easy for a number of months until the end of July / early August when, the Lord willing, we will have some 'itinerant ministry' coming to establish us and set a foundation in the soil of our Lord with Him as the Head. We're very excited about what the Lord is doing.

Organic Church Life- leaving it all at the cross!
About a month ago Milt Rodriguez and Andy Smith came into our town, Mission, BC, to do what was called an "organic church life" conference. A part of the purpose of the meetings was to see if there was anyone in our area who wanted to go down this road.. and for those of us who didn't have a clue how or where to find any like-minded saints, to bring us all together around the Lord.

Organic Church Life Conference in Mission, BC Canada: A Report
Hello Saints..
Milt Rodriguez, who as most of you know is a co-worker with Frank Viola, Alan Levine and Gary Welters, was in Mission, BC presenting the Lord in a series of meetings we called, "Organic Church Life".
As Frank Viola pointed out in Toronto, in June, Milt reiterated here, that those of us who have left or are leaving the Institutional Church, have a lot of "baggage" and "mindsets" that need to go to the cross. There

Paul childs said… - Didn't Christ say be perfect as I am perfect. I do believe on the sermon on the mount that Christ basically made it clear that christianity was impossible. That would lead to my next point when were dead and out of the way, isn't that when Christ can reign in our bodies. if he reigns in our bodies and has been given complete authority then shouldn't we be witnessing a human that christ is working through. then the fruit will be evident.

I don't really know the answer to that, Miguel. I would suggest a leadership reading or "Church Turned Inside Out" by Alan Karr and Linda Bergquist.
How then, does a church that IS institutional in it's method and structure, become organic?
