Are we to breed like rabbits in some rapid church multiplication strategy, or be caught up in the straight line of His Eternal Purpose where Christ is formed in and among us over time?…

Yes, I read this post by Felicity Dale. Saying that the focus of life in Christ-centered ekklesia as being a cop-out by the scriptures she provided does not really solve anything. First of all, Paul said that the gospel was preached to the end of the earth. How could this be possible, if he was not referring to the 11 disciples, and their work. Paul's mentioning of that does not mean that the gospel will no longer need to be preached, but it puts things in proper perspective. Dale said that since Jesus' prayer was evidence for disciples being made does not at all bring concrete evidence that that will come in the way that she "heavily" puts an emphasis on church growth by making disciples rather than living by the indwelling Life of Christ and sharing His Life together. Also, this "simple" 1-2-3 step of growing the church is found no where in the bible. But, something very similar we can find in any business marketing book. It seems there are some gaps of understanding in the New Testament story. The question that remains for us is how did it happen? How did the church grow so strongly? You have to remember too that the Dales, Tony and Felicity, have made the focal point of their ministry about making disciples as the main mission statement of every believer. I would have liked it so much more if she would have answered more of the questions that people have who find in scripture, that what she is proposing is not the case when we look at the New Testament story. I hear this often of how when we do not focus on missions or making disciples then that it is a "cop-out." Wow! She never cited any historical evidence that this is what in fact the first century church practiced, or that this practice has been used before about 200 years ago. I encourage you brother to read what Jon Zens and Frank Viola have to say on the subject. They both go into much more detail throughout history of both the first century church and beyond. For me to change my view on a short post by Felicity Dale that did not touch on some scriptures that conflict with her view and that her entire ministry is based on her view, it did little to prove her point to me. But, thanks for sharing this brother. If you have never read anything from Frank Viola or Jon Zens, I think you will enjoy what they are saying as well.:)
Hi, Sandor. I was reminded of our earlier discussion together when I recently read this blog post and the subsequent comments on it:

It's so good to process scripture together!
Blessings.
