A Little About Me
I grew up in the Methodist church and have been a part of the IC ever since. I was born again at the age of 10 and thankful for the teaching and guidance I had at that point in my life.
Recently, I've been telling my wife that I thought the church today is so far off what God intended and I was questioning if we should even go. I actually felt guilty admitting it, and I wasn't sure what to do or where to turn.
It wasn't until just a month or so ago that a friend told us about Free Believers Network. I've now read the book 'The Misunderstood God' and 'Pagan Christianity'. I'm so glad to be finding groups that feel the same way I do and to know I don't have to feel guilty. I am also glad to be realizing the freedom we have through Christ.
On Easter, we had our first home church fellowship made up of all family members. There were 14 of us and we had a great time. We are committing to doing this once a month. Although I still want to be a part of my home church, I know I can go because I want to and not because I am obligated.
I am open to any suggestions and help on this journey, and I am glad to be a part of this group.

I was just having a surf around some blogs and saw your message. Just thought i would send a quick word of encouragement. I think its great that you had a home fellowship and will continue to meet like that. May God fill you with hope and faith, and I pray his Grace will shine on your times together.
Its funny how you say you still want to be a part of your church and will go out of the spirit and not obligation. I think of myself and the good relatinships i have in my church, its hard to leave that. I want to leave my church due to the ritual, the leadership and the over emphasis on the church as opposed to Christ but wondering if the relationships will keep up.

Hey Ron, thanks. I just downloaded Reimagining Church on our Kindle. Looking forward to reading it. Frank Viola has responded twice to my mail to him that I need to read this book to complete to whole picture.
In regard to comments being approved, I've had trouble in the past (not on this site) with allowing comments before I see them and some of them have been a little embarrassing. I don't really expect something like that on this site, but I'm just like to play it safe based on my past experience.
