The Lord Has Need of You!

We are living in exciting times and I believe we are at the start of a great shifting in the body of Christ where the focus will be on us serving the Lord for His sake and not our sake!

We need to move away from our needs to the needs of Christ!

Did you know the Lord has need of you?

That is that we, the people of God will have Yeshua (Jesus) as the center of our lives and we will provide a home for Him to dwell! Matthew 8v20 – “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests but the Son of man has no place to lay his head”. Will we be the resting place for the Lord, will our lives be His home?

Jesus left Jerusalem in the evening of His final Passover where He would become the sacrificial Lamb because the Jewish leaders and His people rejected Him. He had to go to Bethany to find a place called home away from home.

What happened on the days surrounding the day he cursed the fig tree?

Son of David, (the messianic title Ps. 72, Isa. 9v7 & Matt. 9v27 Jesus was acknowledged and linked to the lineage of David. Matt. Ch1 here the King was being presented to the Jewish people and the Jewish institution). The blind saw! “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us” on the road to Jerusalem. Matt. 20v34, scripture was being fulfilled all around. Just picture that for a moment, what Jesus was doing! In everything He did He fulfilled scripture. Can we say that this is true of our lives?

Remember the statement of Jesus – “I only do what I see the Father do.”?

Matt 21v5 – “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’” Zech. 9v9, Isa. 62v11. It is a procession and no it is not for Easter, don’t believe that lie!

It was Passover! “Here comes the lamb who takes away the sins of the world.” Today we are so off in our traditions we can be just like the fig tree; a religious system with no fruit. Everything looks great from the outside and even the news channels are reporting institutional Church giving is up!

Are we living as the true New Testament church, living as the bride of Christ?

Matt. 21v9 – “Hosanna (save now) to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

The crowd wanted salvation from the oppression of Rome, not a spiritual salvation that Christ offered.

Does this not sound just like Western Christianity today and the reason many attend and partake in an institutional church today?

Many evangelize from the basis of what you can get for yourself like a salesman trying to sell you the hot new product, painting a picture of assurance instead of repentance. “It’s all about me, my preferences my deliverance my assurance”, but what about Christ?

Can we recognize where we are in all of this?

Are we in the crowd fulfilling scripture but not knowing the real message because we never knew the importance of discipleship and fellowship with the Father?
Who are you, are you a new creation in Christ Jesus or have you just aligned your viewpoint towards the Christian message as a religion?

Look at it like this. As I try to get this message over in a loving and compassionate way to do this sometimes we need to have straight talk, as for over 20 yrs when I lead someone to Christ personally it is almost pointed out by the person receiving Christ that to come to Christ Jesus is to give up your life and follow Him. Here is my point, if God did not spare his own people when they were in rebellion why should He spare you if you have all the outward trimmings but have no fruit?

You can keep attending traditional Church if you want, that is up to you. But I have great news! You can know why you are in Christ and you can know the heart of the Father and best of all you can be living as a part of the true body of Christ ministering one with the other in a New Testament way. Let’s enter through the narrow gate together that leads to life.

Most cry; – “Jesus, save me from my oppressors and I will follow you.” Only to forget about walking in the narrow way! And all along Jesus is just looking for a home!

“Come and eat with me, sit at my feet and learn from me,” says the Son of David. But the presentation of the King (messiah) does not stop there. Jesus enters the temple area and drives out the buyers and sellers for the second time, overturning the desks of the money changers. The first time was in the beginning of his ministry the second time was at the end of his ministry in the flesh.

Jesus saw the fig tree and its leaves signifying fruit but when He examined the tree He found no fruit. So He cursed the tree, it withered and died! We know the fig tree represents the Jews, or rather, those who would remain stubborn in their religion, and reject the Messiah. The fig tree represents the Jews, or rather, those who would remain pig-headed in their religion, and reject the Messiah. He withers the tree then in order to punish men. The disciples marvel and with good reason. For the fig tree contains a great amount of sap, and so the fact that it withered immediately serves all the more to indicate the miracle. The fig tree means the synagogue of the Jews, which is the agreed meaning here by scholars, which has only leaves, that is, the visible letter of the law, but not the fruit of the Spirit. But also as we have said above, every man who gives himself over to the sweetness of the present life is likened to a fig tree, who has no spiritual fruit to give to Jesus who is hungry for such fruit, but only leaves, that is, temporal appearances which fall away and are gone. This man, then, hears himself cursed.

Jesus is looking for a place to call home and is hungry to partake of our fruit. It is to my Fathers glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

This is the whole reason you must be born again because you need to live a fruitful life, fruit of the Spirit and of the fulfillment of the Word of the Lord in your life.

My prayer is this. Lord you sent Moses to set your people free will you use this short letter of hope to set those free who thought they were Christians but know they have no fruit of salvation in their lives to be drawn back to you this day. And Father for those who know they are of Christ but are living out their lives in captivity please set them free today to worship you in Spirit and in truth. Lastly, Father for those who live what I am sharing in this letter will you help them to shine their light so those needing help can find them? In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Organic church is believers in Christ meeting as a community allowing Christ to be the head of the body. Under the leadership of Christ we all seek to participate in keeping Jesus central to all that we do.

Michael, my experiences with such groups for more than 20 years now is pretty much the same. Some of them broke up over childish things, such as fleshly disputes, others because they wanted that "religious fix" like spiritual junkies…

Malcolm, I agree with Elaine that this succinct presentation is very helpful. Thank you. The one matter of baptism(s) has been an issue that has occasioned the setting of God's children against one another for almost 2000 years, with such…

The Unseen War by David Kortje

A few weeks back I shared a book review with all of you as I felt it was worthy of your reading. This week I find myself doing the same thing again. You are probably wondering if I have suddenly become a “book reviewer” which of course is not the case at all. In fact quite the contrary. The thing is that for the first time in a very long time I have picked up two books that have really impressed something new in my heart. Not necessarily because the topic was new but more so because of the way…See More

Great story, Michael -- and a good analogy. Two options: contriving a sense of safety/ control or trusting the God who reveals. One is an illusion; the other is life.

I know I'm responding to myself, but I had idea. I like stories; sometimes they teach us about ourselves.  A couple of weeks ago I needed some engine work done on an old Chevy.  Tired of paying a mechanic…

I like reading both sides of the issue, and then reading for myself what is written in the Bible. Some thieves have PhD's, and some don't.
